The Bonkerz Seal of Approval
Google defines Seal of Approval as a status or a recognition given to a product, service, or concept that meets certain criteria created by an organization or person.
The Bonkerz Seal of Approval is required before any comic can work for Bonkerz. These requirements include a commitment to professionalism, as well as providing a great experience for the audience. Bonkerz’ comics are given an itinerary for each venue that outlines show times, content requirements, contact information, lodging details and even a minimum time frame they must appear at the venue before the show.
Bonkerz’ comics typically work multiple Bonkerz venues every year. Some of our headlining comedians work as much as half of their calendar year just working for us. Their actions at each of our venues relates to their employment at all of our venues. Doing a good job in one location is how they earn the opportunity to work all of our locations. The converse is also true, so you can rest assured that the Bonkerz Seal of Approval is not easily earned and something that comics must maintain in order to perform at any and all Bonkerz locations.

Tony Black
Tony Black discovered his gift for making people laugh at an early age while working his first job.
Happiness in Laughter
Tony Black was born on February 28th in Miami, Florida. His parents separated when he was 11 years old. Tony’s mother raised him as a single parent and he credits his sister and aunt for being positive role models. The family managed to find happiness in laughter, even though times were hard. Tony credits his mother for his comedic attribute; she had a knack for imitating other relatives and friends. In turn, he discovered his gift for making people laugh while working his first job. He entertained his coworkers and customers throughout the day to make the day go by quicker.
His #1 Fan
After being encouraged by several coworkers, Tony decided to take his act to the stage. He was bitten by the comedy bug at an open mic night! However, Tony Black didn’t set out to be a comedian. At first, he pursued a career with the Orange County Corrections Department as a Correctional Officer in 1998. Yet, his first love was still comedy. Tony lost his mother after her short battle with breast cancer later that year. Tony’s mom was his number one fan and he always made her laugh, even when she was sick. He continued to spread laughs amongst family and friends and started to rethink his career choice!
Open Mic
Tony entered an open mic contest at the Orlando Improv in 2007, at the urging of family and coworkers. As a result, he won his first open mic competition and gained some recognition. Notably, Tony was invited to open up for Comedian Shawty from Nick Cannons’ Wild-N-Out, in 2008. He continues to perform at several comedy clubs across the nation such as Bonkerz Comedy Clubs and The Improvs. Tony entered the “So You Think You’re Funny” competition at the Orlando Improv in 2011 and won!
An Exciting Comedian
Tony shared the stage with some noticeable names in the comedy industry such as Michael Colyar, Charlie Murphy, Michael Blackson, and Freez Luv, just to name a few. In conclusion, Tony is an exciting comedian who is guaranteed to make you laugh and think!
