The Bonkerz Seal of Approval
Google defines Seal of Approval as a status or a recognition given to a product, service, or concept that meets certain criteria created by an organization or person.
The Bonkerz Seal of Approval is required before any comic can work for Bonkerz. These requirements include a commitment to professionalism, as well as providing a great experience for the audience. Bonkerz’ comics are given an itinerary for each venue that outlines show times, content requirements, contact information, lodging details and even a minimum time frame they must appear at the venue before the show.
Bonkerz’ comics typically work multiple Bonkerz venues every year. Some of our headlining comedians work as much as half of their calendar year just working for us. Their actions at each of our venues relates to their employment at all of our venues. Doing a good job in one location is how they earn the opportunity to work all of our locations. The converse is also true, so you can rest assured that the Bonkerz Seal of Approval is not easily earned and something that comics must maintain in order to perform at any and all Bonkerz locations.

Tanyalee Davis
Tanyalee Davis as seen on MTV’s BASH, the Dave Attels Insomniac Show and Live at the House of Blues. Tanyalee’s perception of people, and how they perceive her, exaggerates the humor of life’s “little” tasks and routines. One theme in Tanyalees act is about being sexy. The sexy comes from within, which means everyone can be sexy and Tanyalee proves it. Tanyalee has made a small yet significant dent in the entertainment scene thus far, headlining throughout the US, Canada and the UK. What she lacks in height she makes up in tenacity. Known as “the little lady with a lot of BIG laughs,” Tanya has also been featured on Chelsea Lately and “Little People Big World”.
As a child, Ms. Davis was not exposed to any form of Stand-Up Comedy as bedtime were adhered to and The Tonight Show was way past her bedtime. However, Tanyalee says that her father and grandfather had a great senses of humor. Particularly memorable were the Henry the Chicken Stories told to Tanyalee and her sister by their airline pilot father. According to Tanyalee; “My mother is a great source of material and some of the stuff that has come out of her mouth lends itself to material some of which I talk about in my new one person show, Big trouble in Little Gina.”
You’re asking how did this tiny comedy dynamo get into Stand-Up Comedy? While in university in Winnipeg, Tanyalee had a boyfriend who dabbled in Stand-Up. [Ms. Davis has degrees in Sociology and Criminology.] She went to one of his open-mic shows where he bombed. A few weeks later Tanyalee was on stage at the same open-mic and killed. The performing drug had kicked in. About 3 weeks later Tanyalee was at an open-mic in front of family and friends and she had her first experience at bombing. Never one to give up on anything, three months later Ms. Davis was in Calgary getting paid for Stand-Up.
Tanyalee Davis has let nothing stand in the way of her comedy career. She has a form of dwarfism called D.D. (diastrophic dysplasia). In November 1999, Tanyalee placed 2nd in the Seattle Comedy Competition. She was the first woman in 10 years to make it into the finals. In October 2012, Tanyalee placed 6th overall in the San Francisco Comedy festival. In April 2001, she headlined at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
