He has made eight national TV appearances including SHOWTIME, A&E, MTV, and VH1 and has worked with some of today’s biggest stars such as Jay Leno, Robin Williams, and Ellen DeGeneres. He is also dad to nine children; yeah, you read that right … nine… including four by adoption and daughter, Maria, who has severe autism.
Mike’s other performance passion these days is his critically acclaimed one-man show, “A Real Man – Dad. Daughter. Autism.” This show, which has been called everything from “moving and inspiring” to “laugh-out-loud funny” tells the story of his incredible experience with Maria and how her innocence, sweetness, and vulnerability have helped to mold him into being a much better man. A dedicated husband and father, Mike put his career on hold for a number of years as he and his wife, Laurine, raised their family with special attention and focus on their daughter, Maria, who is severely autistic. The Guido’s founded and managed the M.A.R.I.A. Foundation, a non-profit organization which supports autistic children and their families.
