The Bonkerz Seal of Approval
Google defines Seal of Approval as a status or a recognition given to a product, service, or concept that meets certain criteria created by an organization or person.
The Bonkerz Seal of Approval is required before any comic can work for Bonkerz. These requirements include a commitment to professionalism, as well as providing a great experience for the audience. Bonkerz’ comics are given an itinerary for each venue that outlines show times, content requirements, contact information, lodging details and even a minimum time frame they must appear at the venue before the show.
Bonkerz’ comics typically work multiple Bonkerz venues every year. Some of our headlining comedians work as much as half of their calendar year just working for us. Their actions at each of our venues relates to their employment at all of our venues. Doing a good job in one location is how they earn the opportunity to work all of our locations. The converse is also true, so you can rest assured that the Bonkerz Seal of Approval is not easily earned and something that comics must maintain in order to perform at any and all Bonkerz locations.

Kevin Barber
Kevin Barber – Squishy Man brings a new voice to comedy. He brings wit, excitement & enthusiasm every time he graces the stage. No matter if there are 10 or 10,000 people in the audience; Kevin gives the performance of his life. Kevin discusses everyday topics like; Repaying Student Loans, Office Politics, Step Parenting, Living with Diabetes, Being Multiracial, Changing Careers, Outsourcing, and dealing with the dreaded, “Midlife Crisis.” Kevin uses “Squishy” to dissect the funniness in everything. As a comedian “Squishy” has appeared with the likes of Lisa Lampanelli, Sarah Silverman, Ron White, Ralphie May, Katt Williams and Cedric the Entertainer just to name a few! Funny is in his genes…!
Kevin Barber – Squishy Man is a licensed Psychotherapist, Public Speaker and Entertainer who has had a humble beginning… He is one of eight children; the son of an Irish/German mother and an African/American father. Squishy’s white grandfather was a Knight of the KKK and his African American dad was a member of the Black Panther Party. Barber eventually dropped out of high school, but in 1992 he earned his bachelor’s degree at Washburn University and two years later completed a master’s degree program at The University of Kansas. Squishy Man Barber, a standup comedian who was born and raised in Topeka, Kansas.
For more than six years, Barber worked as a psychotherapist in Kansas City, Mo., specializing in working with multiracial children and their families. Then he got downsized out of his job at the community mental health center where he worked. “I was getting kind of burned out on therapy, and I lost a relationship,” said Barber, who decided it was the right time to “take a jump and do something I’ve always wanted to do and stand-up comedy filled the void. Kevin brings a new voice to comedy. He brings wit, excitement & enthusiasm every time he graces the stage.
