The Bonkerz Seal of Approval
Google defines Seal of Approval as a status or a recognition given to a product, service, or concept that meets certain criteria created by an organization or person.
The Bonkerz Seal of Approval is required before any comic can work for Bonkerz. These requirements include a commitment to professionalism, as well as providing a great experience for the audience. Bonkerz’ comics are given an itinerary for each venue that outlines show times, content requirements, contact information, lodging details and even a minimum time frame they must appear at the venue before the show.
Bonkerz’ comics typically work multiple Bonkerz venues every year. Some of our headlining comedians work as much as half of their calendar year just working for us. Their actions at each of our venues relates to their employment at all of our venues. Doing a good job in one location is how they earn the opportunity to work all of our locations. The converse is also true, so you can rest assured that the Bonkerz Seal of Approval is not easily earned and something that comics must maintain in order to perform at any and all Bonkerz locations.

John Evans
John Evans has taken the comedy world by storm, and has entertained audiences all over the world. His intelligent brand of likable sarcasm is both off-beat and hilarious. He was invited to the prestigious Montreal Comedy Festival’s “new faces” show in 2002, and began to headline comedy clubs across the United States. An appearance on Comedy Central’s Live at Gotham followed, and In 2006 and 2007 appeared on NBC’s Last Comic Standing, and he is A regular On the syndicated Bob and Tom radio show. After a move to Los Angeles, John had the unique pleasure of Opening up for his Comedy Idol George Carlin.
John can be seen headlining comedy clubs across the country and is a regular guest on the nationally syndicated Bob and Tom radio show. These standards and smarts have started to be recognized in important comedy circles. John Evans loves checking out thrift stores in all the cities he visits, a trait which ordinarily wouldn’t be worth including in a comic’s bio like this, any more than citing one’s preference for long walks on the beach. But in John’s case, this tidbit might well merit mention for a couple of reasons, starting with the way it enables us to point out that we’re not just talking about a city or two when he leaves his Minneapolis home– this guy’s one of the hardest-working, fastest-rising young comics on the circuit, hitting comedy clubs in a different city about 40 weeks each year. That’s a lot of thrift stores. But the main reason to mention this is more metaphorical: The same keen eye and great taste that John brings to transforming old, used duds into sharp, hip fashion statements he also applies to his stand-up. He’s a similar connoisseur of comedy, and as such, is acutely discerning about what ideas and language will make for smart, fully original stand-up material, and what will merely constitute the old, the generic, the uninspired–stuff he avoids as resolutely as he’d avoid buying a hideous old shirt dotted with suspicious stains.
