The Bonkerz Seal of Approval
Google defines Seal of Approval as a status or a recognition given to a product, service, or concept that meets certain criteria created by an organization or person.
The Bonkerz Seal of Approval is required before any comic can work for Bonkerz. These requirements include a commitment to professionalism, as well as providing a great experience for the audience. Bonkerz’ comics are given an itinerary for each venue that outlines show times, content requirements, contact information, lodging details and even a minimum time frame they must appear at the venue before the show.
Bonkerz’ comics typically work multiple Bonkerz venues every year. Some of our headlining comedians work as much as half of their calendar year just working for us. Their actions at each of our venues relates to their employment at all of our venues. Doing a good job in one location is how they earn the opportunity to work all of our locations. The converse is also true, so you can rest assured that the Bonkerz Seal of Approval is not easily earned and something that comics must maintain in order to perform at any and all Bonkerz locations.

Eric DaSilva
The byproduct of a nun in training and a martial arts master, Eric DaSilva was born in Queens, New York. Raised in a Brazilian immigrant house hold, Eric’s distinctive sense of humor from a concoction of Brazilian perspectives and American sensibilities started taking shape. After moving to Miami, Eric quickly became a hit with audiences and became a regular on the South Florida comedy scene. He won both the North Vs. South Florida Comedy Competition and Florida’s Funniest Festival, and has been seen on Comedy Times Network.
Born in Queens, NY and raised in Miami, FL, Eric began his comedy career while attending college in Miami. After winning several comedy competitions he moved to New York to continue his stand-up career. Eric quickly made appearances on Comedy Time Network, featured on Hulu, headlined the NYC Annual Brazilian Day Comedy Showcase and his first album can be heard on Pandora radio.
Eric has also wrapped up his second comedy album, Not A Beautiful Mind. Shot and filmed in Miami at the famous Artistic Vibes Studio to a sold out crowd, and due out in 2015. Eric can be seen touring the country performing his brand of comedy at Comedy Clubs, Colleges and Casinos. Eric also co-hosts on Bad Dads Podcast on the Artistic Vibes Podcast Network. DaSilva is in the midst of getting ready for a feature showcase at the Fillmore, this Saturday, which will be recorded and later released as a DVD called Not a Beautiful Mind. The name alludes to the comedic shift that DaSilva has made over his comedic career, and self-realizations made mainly due to his life as a father.
Eric was finding his comedy voice, but it wasn’t until he had his first kid that DaSilva felt the reception change. “I find the beauty in failure,” “I always say, you haven’t lived life until you’ve had a dream that’s died.” He came back to Miami this past August, mainly for family reasons. After having a second child with his girlfriend, he wanted her to have support while he traveled the country. He’s been able to pursue his comedy even further, headlining a bunch of shows, being featured on local podcasts, and consistently touring. Not a Beautiful Mind came together almost by chance, born from a previous showcase during the South Beach Comedy Festival arranged by South Florida comedy promoters Have-Nots Comedy.
