The Bonkerz Seal of Approval
Google defines Seal of Approval as a status or a recognition given to a product, service, or concept that meets certain criteria created by an organization or person.
The Bonkerz Seal of Approval is required before any comic can work for Bonkerz. These requirements include a commitment to professionalism, as well as providing a great experience for the audience. Bonkerz’ comics are given an itinerary for each venue that outlines show times, content requirements, contact information, lodging details and even a minimum time frame they must appear at the venue before the show.
Bonkerz’ comics typically work multiple Bonkerz venues every year. Some of our headlining comedians work as much as half of their calendar year just working for us. Their actions at each of our venues relates to their employment at all of our venues. Doing a good job in one location is how they earn the opportunity to work all of our locations. The converse is also true, so you can rest assured that the Bonkerz Seal of Approval is not easily earned and something that comics must maintain in order to perform at any and all Bonkerz locations.

Brandon James
Brandon James performed stand-up in over seven countries. His act is described as an average guy just trying to figure out the world.
That Funny Guy
Brandon James is originally a chubby kid from Minot, ND, and is a lifelong fan of stand-up comedy. He became hooked on shows like Saturday Night Live and various Comedy Central specials while growing up. He was frequently threatened with trips to the principal’s office during his religious education classes, for his comedic antics. In addition, he was always labeled as “that funny guy,” in high school.
Open Mics
He later attended college at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he began sneaking away between his graduate courses to do open mics. “It was hard at first,” he recalls, “but I loved it. Soon, I was working on stand-up non-stop.” He continued to persevere, writing and performing constantly. He learned from some of the best in the business along the way. He soon became a sought-after host and feature act. Brandon started to pursue comedy on a serious level through strong encouragement from family, friends, and coworkers.
A Winning Combination
Brandon’s act is best described as an average guy just trying to figure out the world. For this reason, his material sometimes draws comparisons to Pete Holmes, Jerry Seinfeld, and Gary Gulman. Brandon is described as “ridiculously likeable,” on-stage because he possesses the ability to win over virtually any audience with his nice-guy appeal. However, Brandon is so much more than just your average nice guy. Many audience members have stated; just when you think you have him figured out, he will switch it up and surprise you. He is capable of performing both clean and edgy material. This proves to be a winning combination.
Prestigious Performances
Brandon shared the stage with Joe Rogan, Kevin Nealon, Kirk Fox, Darrell Hammond, George Wallace, and many others. He currently performs at many prestigious venues, including The Comedy Store in Los Angeles, the Hollywood Improv, and for America’s military stationed in Portugal, Spain, Italy, Jordan, Turkey, and Egypt. When not traveling, he can be seen entertaining audiences in-and-around the Las Vegas area.
