Billy McFarland

Billy McFarland grew up in South Texas. Years of being made fun of prepared him for his unintended life into comedy. Growing up watching Johnny Carson and David Letterman introduce the nations brightest and best upcoming comedians seemed to have more of an effect than he knew. It was in college in Oklahoma that Billy saw his first comedian in person. The comic ended up talking to Billy during the show and the back and forth made the audience laugh. Billy was invited to an open mic and turned it down. That summer Billy worked in Branson, Mo at Ray Stevens theater doing concession stand work and making Ray Stevens’ band laugh between shows while they were on break. Billy was again invited to come back to Branson and work as a comic on the strip…Billy again turned it down. “I always thought comedians were some mythical figure that appeared on my television because some fairy waved a magic wand around, and they would appear. Branson was the first time I realized it was an actual possibility, but I was still too scared.” Fast forward one bad marriage and a few years later. Billy McFarland realized he didn’t want to be 80 years old and say he wished he had tried, so in 2000 went to his first open mic in Dallas, TX. Since then Billy has been writing jokes and hitting stages all across America. His hilarious style will win you over as he talks about all kinds of topics from growing up with big ears to asking the important questions like “What if policeman had to wear skates?” He has appeared on Fox’s Prison Break and Good Morning Dallas and has plans for much more. Billy McFarland is far from a dirty comic with a knack for knowing where the funny is and how to present it, you will leave feeling better and happier about life because at least you’re not him.
